Copy 2D elements - paste into 3D sheet

Post by byddorfler » Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:13 pm

Hello!
I build model airplanes. There are many interesting plans. Some plans are even for free in the internet. Really interesting would be if I could draw my own plans. Original aircraft photographs are plentiful. These can serve as a template. But I also like to construct model aircraft from imagination. For this idea I would like to use medusa4 (personal). Everything should be represented in 3D.

I have already completed first exercises for the creation of simple 3D objects. O.k. none of these objects will fly sometime. I just wanted to see what happens! I also created multidimensional objects, such as fuselage, elevator or rudder. No Problem, if you just want to create objects with straight lines and expand them with circular objects.

But how do I create curves in 3D mode?

Do I have to create all elements in 2D mode first and then copy everything in a 3D drawing sheet ? I can copy things from the 2D sheet. Pasting them to a 3D-sheet is not enabled.

What am I making wrong?

Is there anyone who can help me?

Thanks for your step by step assistance ... :-)

Yours bydorfler (tried it in english as best as he can!)!

Ok...let me try to describe the whole thing.

You don't have to create a 3D sheet to draw a 3D model. Here is a video totorial, how you can transform your 2D sheet in a 3D sheet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThBm1kQOnHU

For all other questions you maybe can try to check the documentation: http://www.cad-schroer.de/Software/MEDUSA4/CADFreeware/DokuM4PL/

@SURGE:
Thank your for your answer. I am very glad to know that I can continue using the "Drei-Tafel-Projektion" (greetings to all german technical-school-ex-pupils of 1990!) to create an 2d drawing and convert it to a 3d model.

Excuse me please, but "documentation" (and nothing more!) is a very poor description for such a galaxy of knowledge! A little "answers all questions about... " should have stopped me asking silly questions here.

And now ... I am looking forward to read all the documentation in the next few weeks! I can`t wait, using Medusa4 in the right way ;-)

Your bydorfler!

@ bydorfler:

If you still have questions in using M4 Personal, just post your question here. We'll try to help you as good as we can.
