Medusa 4 DON'T work on OpenSuSE 11

Try using YaST to get these packages
gcc34-3.4.6-4.1
compat-g77-3.3.5-42.1

MEDUSA is built using old compiler version than you have installed and needs the shared libs from those version to run

error message whilst plotting

There is not a lot of infomation to go on here. It would be useful to know how you are submitting the plots, how many quere, which platform, which version of MEDUSA. In any case the simplest solution is probably to recreate your project and queue

The window is too large for my monitor

As far as I am aware the minmum resolution required for MEDUSA is 1280x1024 so I am afraid you will not get it to fit on 1024x768.

lmutil lmhostid problem with multiple hostid's

It should not be a problem that you get multiple id from lmutil as long as the first one is used in the license file.
I would check you have the license file in the correct location and with read premission for the user running MEDUSA

Use the first one in the list it relates to your real network card. You can use ipconfig/all in a cmd window to see which relates to what. In the list look for physical address and remvie the - charcaters

How-to start MEDUSA4 Personal License on Linux

The problem with FT_Library_SetLcdFilter can be fixed by going into medsys/med/share and renaming libfreetype.so.6 to libfreetype.so.6.orig
