Re: 3D training prpblem..

OK, now for Ken's second problem. snapshot13.png If this item is a piece of sheet metal with a few holes in it we model it as a "slab". There have to be one or more "Profiles" and one or more "Links". In my drawing the green lines are the profiles and the red line that I'm editing is the link. The l...

Re: 3D training prpblem..

To make a different value apply to just one part of the model create a TMS text with the string "CHOTOL N.N N" and place it exactly on the link-line. Sorry, TMG text. And I have just noticed the "official" way to do this. When you are creating the link-line there is a row of boxes in the menu just ...

Re: 3D training prpblem..

I think the problem in both cases is that you are drawing in inches, but there is a factor that is set for metric measurement. When Medusa models a curved surface it approximates it with a number of faces. The number is controlled by a "chord tolerance", which is the maximum the flat face is allowed...

Re: Symbols or blocks

New to Medusa4. I was wondering if it possible with Medusa4 Personal to make a symbol that contains data that can be changed similar to the welding and surface roughness symbols. Would like to make a cross symbol with data input in the 4 quadrants used in aircraft fastener codes in the US. (Nationa...

Re: Is there any PDF tutorials...

It is a Piper PA-17 "Vagabond", although it started life as a PA-15. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_PA-15_Vagabond>

Very distinctive paint, and very nice to fly I'm told.

Re: Is there any PDF tutorials...

NO Medusa content here!

But here is a photo of one of my friends "newest" aeroplanes, which he bought 3 weeks ago:

Re: Is there any PDF tutorials...

Thanks Thomas, I had some of the user guides and downloaded around 14 videos from YouTube. I have already tried the Sheet Metal video. Maybe someone will do a PDF tutorial on something like a gear box, pump or a Helical Tri-Lobe Blower in the future. One thing you need to know is that Medusa sheetm...

Re: Creating cone or pyramide

OK, on we go.... 22.jpg The top Profile has a Line Generator line with point function 10 on one corner and a point function 12 to show the depth of that point in the ZX view. Point function 12 (as specified in manual) is Centre Line in the linepoint popup menu. Then a text TMG is placed on the line ...

Re: Creating cone or pyramide

I have created a valid solid model of this, but before showing how I would like to explain why this is not a click, click click function on the menus. The "pyramid" is only symetrical about one axis, and in orthogonal view only one of the six faces is seen as a true view (the bottom). So at least on...

Re: Creating cone or pyramide

"The resulting model is built by the two parallel profile faces with tiles joining these faces at whatever angle a straight line can be ruled between them." Riiiight. I am sure there is a quick way to do this, but cannot remember quite how to do it -- it is 25 years since I last used Medusa 3D in a...
