Solving issues with libtiff.so.3 (under L- Ubuntu)

Postby rohdekage » Tue Dec 04, 2012 10:44 am

Hi out there!

THX to all your help in this forum! I would like to add a detailed solution to starting-error:

Code: Select all

/opt/medusa4_personal_v5_0/medcolraster/m2d/run/draft: error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

You have to find the installed libtiff.so.versionnumber . In terminal run:

Code: Select all

sudo locate libtiff*

It shows something like:

Code: Select all

/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtiff.so.4.3.4

The path and version-number of your Linux-installation is important, here 4.3.4. You have to link the demanded libtiff.so.3 to your version with Linux-command ln -s. So type in terminal

Code: Select all

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtiff.so.4.3.4 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtiff.so.3

With

Code: Select all

sudo /opt/medusa4_personal_v5_0/master_project/startmedusa

MEDUSA should start properly now.

Return to “Medusa4 on Linux”
