Windows 2000 plotting tricks

Hi,

Has anyone got some notes on how to setup printing on Windows 2000 so that you dont have to specify the paper size, orientation and printer device each time you print ?

You can set the default paper size and orientation on the printer in Windows to what you want. It will use those settings automatically when you choose that printer

You can also make that printer your default printer so you don't have to select it each time.

However ......
In our case, others use the printers and they don't like our paper sizes. And we have several printers. And I don't want the large paper for all my printing so we use the Medusa plot queues in cyclic mode. You only need to select the printer settings once when starting up the queues.

We have the queues for each printer running on a server (another PC that we don't shut down) so that we only have to start up the queues when the power goes out, etc.

Hope this helps.
