Plot-logging

Postby kaemmerling » Fri May 03, 2002 6:59 am

Hi all,
does someone have a solution to log all necessary information of plotting? I need to log time, date, size, copies, printer, username, department and some additional infos, which must included automatically at plottime

Thanks for suggestions

I have faced this problem as well; I ending up making a wrap around to the existing plot routines. For superprint they are superprint_setup_apply() and superprint_setup_ok(), for normal plotting they are mui_plot_setup_apply and mui_plot_settup_ok.

Heres some example code for superprint: log_plot_info() takes care of writting all info to a log file. You must also copy and modfiy the plot uid files to point to your scripts.

-------------------------------------------------------------
define_constant(!my_superprint_setup_apply,proc()
-------------------------------------------------------------
--msgf_message("my super print")

log_plot_info()
superprint_setup_apply()

endproc)
----------------------------------------------------------
define_constant(!my_superprint_setup_ok,proc()
------------------------------------------------------------
--msgf_message("my super print")
log_plot_info()
superprint_setup_ok()
endproc)

If you want to dowload full routine go to www.caddatasystems.com/downloads/plotting

Hope this helps. If someone knows an easier way let us know!

Hi Don,

sorry for the late answer!
Thank you very much for your suggestion. It seems to be a good solution for a special problem of mine.
