Re: Medusa Personal 5.2.1 startet nicht unter Linux

Mir Deutsch ist nicht gut genug, um in Ihrer Sprache antworten. You need quite a few 32-bit libraries. You can find out which are missing by opening a terminal window and starting Medusa from that window with <Installation_directory>/master_project/startmedusa and the window will stay with error mes...

Re: Uninstallation

How uninstall MEDUSA4 Personal version 5.2.1. on Linux Mint 17.2 - 64bites.

sudo csh /opt/medusa4_personal_v5_2_1/_uninst/uninst.csh

I do not know if that will remove Medusa from the menus though, you may have to do that through the menu editor.

Re: Installation problems on Ubuntu 12.04

Could you post the results of
ls -l /bin/sh

On my Mint 17.2 (derived from Ubuntu) the installed `sh' is actually `dash', which is a Korn-shell derivative.

Re: Dotted lines print as dashes

Ah, so I was wrong, it's not a QT setting.

Interesting to see that LCIS is still a part of 2015 Medusa, it was supposed to have been replaced by Bacis2 before 1990

Thanks for the info Don,

The layout of the first Unix screen

https://www.flickr.com/photos/54731504@N04/18459991722/ This is my reference drawing for the First Customer Ship version of Medusa on Unix. At the time we started this we had to invent our own method of navigating the menus, there were no pop-ups, no lists of commands. Everything was visual except ...

Medusa Parametrics

I've recently discovered drawings from my efforts to model car suspension in the 1980s with Medusa Parametrics. Sadly the actual programs no longer exist and this was only 2D, with drawing-board techniques used to add a little of the third dimension. See: https://www.flickr.com/photos/54731504@N04/s...

Re: Dotted lines print as dashes

You will notice as you zoom in & out on the screen the dots/dashes remain the same visual size. The same happens on the plot, dots & dashes are the same length on paper for full sheet and plotted zoomed-in area. I think this is a function of the graphics toolkit (QT-4(?)). Somewhere there is...

Re: Elliptical shapes

An ellipse in Medusa is not a single curve, it is 4 curves. If you create an elipse and edit it so you can move around the points, you will see that there are 8 points to define it. The normal way to change the ellipse is to draw a group box around the three points at one end and move them by half t...
