Hello,

I got a problem starting medusa on Ubuntu 8.10 but i think it is system independent.
I installed Medusa and adressed the License-file while installing but after finished the installation and try to start medusa i recive the following error :

Keine Lizenz f�r MED_PERSONAL verf
Bitte Systemadministrator konsultieren

for the english people (rough translation):
No License for MED_PERSONAL avaible
Please contact your system administrator

But the license file is in the correct path (install_path/medsys/med/license) and it shows the correct Mac-adress i also tried another Mac-adress that i get through ifconfig but it wont start.

I searched the forum but havent find any clue so i would be pleased if someone can tell me what to do

Got the same problem...

Installation last night under WIN-XP Pro SP2 with the installation-wizard, MAC-address automaticly reveived from the finding tool (and verified with ipconfig... )

The license-file is at the right place, has the right name and the right number inside...but Medusa says there is no license...

Is there any solution? The program looks really great in the tutorial-vids...would be even greater if it worked at home...

Edit: It's solved. I simply requested a new license...and now it works.

Can't find out what was wrong with the other file, but that doesn't matter anymore...

I have also the same problem, I have sent the address of my eth0. After receiving the licence key, I have renamed it and changed its permission and I got the following error :

Unable to obtain license for MED_PERSONAL
Please consult your system manager

I retried with wlan0 address and again the same problem.
I would also mention that the physical address finder of license request window returns the wlan0 address.

Any idea? it would be gerat if anyone could find any answer for me.

I'm having the same problem with "Unable to optain license" (btw, it should be oBtain, I guess). I've requested two license files for two different MAC-addresses (one for wlan mac and another for ethernet). None of them work.

Exact information:
os - ubuntu 8.04
Medusa 4.0.0.
Error message: Error (15) unable to optain license.

Which is fine, I'm a regular user and able to read this file.  Running medusa from superuser root doesn't solve the problem.

Is there any way to solve it? I'd like to  try this autocad alternative.
